I agree with you. The thing is that there are GOP flunkies who keep pushing bills in Congress to make it happen (evidence these people will go out of their way to kiss his butt). There is enough insanity going on that they could pass it.

From what I read a long while back is there are so many fractures in the rock and strata there, that any such undertaking could completely destroy the mountain. In GOP minds, just throw more money at it... which they might!

The petition serves to raise awareness that the people do NOT want it. Quit pushing for it... that sort of thing. It is just a means to share our voice. May very well be pointless, but I will still add my name to make our voices bigger. Can't hurt!
