This story? THIS story is objectionable? Even though this story has a racist, mean Librarian - and I’m a Librarian - I applaud this book. It shows we’ve made mistakes & it shows we’ve made progress. Trump wants to bury history… We’re supposed to learn from it.
Here in Kentucky, preachers at a church in Shelby County encouraged members to steal books from the library that they didn't like. Wait until they discover that books are also available online. Idiots!
If I were there? I’d stand in front of that church with a huge sign…. “All LGBTQ are welcome here! Why else would these church members constantly check out every LGBTQ book we stock…more than any other kind!”
I'm happy that double the cost of the books were raised.
