If a poll said 40% believe the Earth is flat i wouldn’t say well let’s give those flat-Earthers a chance, maybe they’re on to something. I would say, we need to redouble basic education. Fascists need to be expelled from public life. Everyone should be on board with that.
there's also the possible explanation that Trump voters love to troll others, which requires contact, and/or don't think that their own harmful politics are that big a deal
