These guys are walking 6-deep in freaking GEORGETOWN! Outside of late night bar fights, if that, Georgetown is one of DC's most upscale and safest neighborhoods. I used to patrol a beat in Anacostia on my own and would radio for backup when I needed it.

Very true. Overall, I've always found DC to be a great city. Been many times, and every experience was great. I have family that goes for concerts on a regular basis and has never had problems. Every city has crime, but it has never seemed excessive. Less dangerous than many cities.

Yep. Even at the height of the crack epidemic when gang violence was out of control, the tourist and business/government office areas were still relatively safe. Always been lots of law enforcement presence there. These guys are just saturating already saturated low-crime neighborhoods.
