Sounds like it has a lot of sodium in it.
It just about the only thing I put that much salt into. Let’s face reality, tortillas are a vessel for flavorful food not a flavorful food themselves. Kind of like white bread.

Salt is one of the damned if you do, damned if you don’t items in life. You must have it to survive. It is required for the body to perform correctly but too much will kill you.
I have made a verde sauce for enchiladas with tomatillos, pasillas, jalapenos, etc. Very good.
