Same. I have absolutely been served malware via their ads and it made me have to block ads for them.

Wowhead is a nightmare to use unless you can block all their ads, it's kinda wild actually

Oh, there was a whole discourse. “Wowhead served me malware” “Well you should be paying them so you don’t have to have ads in the first place!” The weird white knighting in that community has always struck me as odd.

The website is a great resource, I feel like the fact they've just gotten away with the ad situation because they don't really have much competition. Like I know there's other WoW fansites but let's be real.

Without question, if you offered me an alternative that was as comprehensive at the DB level and with even a passable UI I would never look back.

It was a long, long time ago and I got a lot of “that’s not a thing, you got it somewhere else” and excuse me? I build this pc, installed wow, and checked wowhead. It absolutely was not from somewhere else.
