85% of kids grow out of dysphoria on their own unless affirmed into opposite gender ID. but even if they dont grow out of it, the "care" doesnt help. claims it does are part of a PR and lobby campaign that robs the rights and harms vulnerable ppl

Also I’m talking about peer reviewed medical lit, the only thing that ought to inform care. (I’m on my phone at a soccer tourney and cant give cits rn) What you posted is provocative and is not science*. Med journals r certainly not immune to bias, are not typically subject to activist lobbying.

We are talking about different things — I’m not talking about treatment of children and don’t generally have experience with that (though I’ve learned to leave space for complexity in individual cases). I’m talking about adults meeting diagnostic criteria. Robin changed their license as an adult.

if you know of one study or one report that claims this helps, feel free to provide it. i understand plenty of people have the opinion it helps, but when you look at their sources to back up these claims its always meaningless online polls and the like. its a scam promoted by activists. its a choice

and voluntary identity. its a cultural fad that fans of this expect the health biz to provide this vanity "care". once they arrive at dr theyve already been convinced of a lie. and theres no evidence it benefits anyone. not even one person. if you know of any pls provide. it doesnt exist

That’s really not been my experience. These are hard personal questions that some people clearly struggle mightily with and we are getting distracted from the fact that people always have various emotional struggles. Does adding quick access to firearms make this better or worse?

If you’re trying to extrapolate that gender dysphoria causes mass shootings, and your solution is to tell people “stop feeling that thing you’ve always felt deeply in your bones” I don’t think that’s going to work and it misses an opportunity to do something about these tragedies.

Ill come back with links to facts and citations later when i have access to my computer so people can draw their own conclusions, but i wanted to highlight that we’ve both posted opinions and opinions are cheap and deceptive.

no, im saying the intervention of gender affirming "care" including gender meds doesnt work. theres no evidence it works. it actually makes psych issues worse, as what happened to Minn shooter. suicides go up 20x after using this "care". in contrast the exploratory responce to dysphoria does work.

i agree with gun control laws. but we also need to address psych issues. gender affirmation is a non evidenced based medical intervention that makes psych issues worse. as such, the persons who gave Robert this "care" and convinced him to undergo this "care" are culpable in a crime
