Adore REAR WINDOW and have seen it a zillion times, but over time I’ve come to view it less as a Hitchcockian suspense thriller, and more as a romantic comedy/battle of the sexes with a murder and dismemberment added. Am I wrong? 🤔

There's no right and wrong in how one chooses to view a work of art. The reason the film is great is because it's so layered that it manages to be both.
The dynamics are very interesting because, he has the three main characters, in one apartment, each of them knows exactly who they are. Whereas across the backyard, we see an array of people, locked in despair or loneliness, each struggling to find themselves in the hard city.
