I know it'd be better to engage the entire population. But at this moment X and other platforms are too toxic, heavily surveilled, manipulated and over populated by bots and group PR efforts. There's a bit of that here, but BlueSky is in its infancy and retains plenty of room for honest exchanges.

My theory. The color revolutions freaked elite leaders out as to the potential power social media was able to confer to the peasants. They set about disabling or managing and manipulating our ability to continue to engage in that manner on older, established platforms.

Arab Spring taught them both the power of positive clicks, & the danger of realtime relays. X was destroyed on this premise, imho.

It is easy to slip into saying 'they' as if there's only one of them. I do find it interesting that BlueSky emerged into broader public consciousness just as Trump 2.0 was kicking off in earnest. Makes me suspect not all of them are bad guys.

Oh, absolutely... We were all so hopeful in the promise of next generation, that only when the scandals broke did wiser minds come together to create alternative paths. They can't own 'em all. 🦋🪶
