Numbers 10-12 are all pretty special tbf. Although Unkovich is also completely cooked, so good riddance.
After her there's the former Shortland Street actor who's a youngish guy on a transphobia kick. Like outgoing MP he'd be there to "save women" but not from poverty or losing pay equity or any other political moves, just the prospect of sharing bathrooms or sports fields with trans women and enbies.
I was wondering if she got sick of being hit by doors swinging after Shanasaurus jones.
she wasn't in service to nzers before or during the time she was in parliament, when the hell is she going to start?
Wasn't one of their hideous anti- Trans laws in the biscuit tin put forward by her? Hopefully Parliament staff can now burn it in front of her and give her an envelope with the ashes in it.
All of this 👌
She withdrew it to put in a different one. But Jenny Marcroft of NZ First put in the 'Definitions of Woman and Man' bill to replace it.
Jenny is such a disappointment - she was somewhat good last time
I have a feeling that one was a 'request' direct from Winny, as he can't introduce member's Bills himself as he's a minister.
She seems to very much a 'yes Sir' type so you are right I imagine
Could that be worse than the Nuremberg 2.0 member, anti-vaxer and transphobe we're losing...
It. Can. Always. Be. Worse.
I like what Anna wrote here "Politicians seldom choose their words, nor the signal they wish to send, by accident. Maurice Williamson didn’t in 2013, and our current crop aren’t in 2024. " thespinoff.co.nz/politics/15-...
Please, please, please, can we have that one?
"she believed she could “personally be of more service to New Zealanders" Is this an admission we paid her for doing nothing? She should refund the taxpayers, after all, she is sitting in a govt who's leader said he will go line by line and make sure there's no money wasted. #nzpol
It’s an admission her party, and the government they’re in coalition with, has her in parliament doing nothing. I might not like her or her party but it’s the government as a whole that is responsible, not the MP Back-benchers are not meant to be idle, but it’s up to cabinet to make use of them.
And one more past that for this guy (although I believe he's moved back to the US?): www.1news.co.nz/2023/09/25/n...
Not going to lie: being Bluetooth enabled would be kind of handy.
It’s not far off, if the tech gagallionaires get their way
I rank it with gaining magnetic super powers from the jab... Still haven't gained those powers, dammit.
“personally be of more service to New Zealanders through various avenues in the private sector, as well as coaching and consultancy” A bit different to "spending more time with family"... I wonder what's up?
Her usefulness to NZ would be if she goes to America.
As long as it's permanent, we could all chip in...
She is a deluded piece of work. She once thought 9/11 was real. Our MPs need a lot more scrutiny.
More to be made doing a clean grift in the pvt sector ("I'm independent and untainted than being beholden to govt, I can really speak my mind and help you") Also more room to push the more rabid anti-trans stuff and say it's a calling from God to do so (her reason for getting *into* Parliament)
