🧵 I know it's ridiculous, but when he's talking mitochondrial challenges & inflammation, he's again referring to his idea of vaccine-induced autism. Let me explain.

Look at his face...it's like the walking ded!
Feels like this all overlaps with his relationship with the Meanses as well.
Definitely. I haven't read enough of their stuff to know how they package it though.
/2 In 2000, a child named Hannah Poling received a normal round of vaccines. She was 19 months old. Afterward, she had a bad reaction and then was diagnosed with developmental delays months later. She was also found to have encephalopathy caused by a mitochondrial enzyme deficit...
/3 ... and issues with language, communication, & behavior that fit diagnoses for autism spectrum disorder. Her parents claimed this was caused by vaccines and sued in the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. They won. @pauloffit.bsky.social sums up the story here.
/4 Kennedy seized on this, suggesting mitochondrial disorders could be one of many unknown underlying conditions that made vaccines dangerous to certain children & could lead to autism. It was the science-y explanation he was previously missing to charge vaccines with causation.
Fin/ So that's what he's really getting at here, and it will likely be a part of his big release on autism. He's not really diagnosing mitochondrial disorders by sight. He's saying he sees kids who are autistic due to vaccines, and mitochondrial issues are the underlying susceptibility.
Just adding this where he uses almost the same description when specifically comparing vaccinated v unvaccinated kids. (Click link & check replies for video source from X).

RFK using big words like mitochondrial makes me suspicious that he could even find one on a cell diagram...
No chance.
There is an opportunity for RFK Jr to make millions $$ here by incorrectly blaming vaccines for autism. There will be legal damages suits bonanzas that he+ his opportunistic legal team are gonna substantially benefit from by his misinformation. Global reputational harm to vaccines will follow.
who needs chatGPT when we have RFK to assemble accusatory word salad out of thirdhand science drawled by a drunk at a bar, anecdata, and vicious hatred of vaccines!
RFK may be the one human I trust less than ChatGPT for factual information.
I do always appreciate that you hold your nose & pull together the disparate incoherent strings of misinfo! No clue how you stay sane amidst it, but it’s a much-needed and even more appreciated public service 🫡
RFK jr could tell me that smoking cigarettes is bad for me and I’d still have to look on various health organizations websites. Health organizations here is defined as like, the American Heart Association
if he told me the sky was blue, I’d step outside to check for myself!
This
I trust him more than his boss, but that's like saying I trust mega-cancer more than multidimensional hyper-AIDS. (Both of which would be more likely to have effective therapeutics if Bobby and Cankle Joffrey were eaten by sharks.)
trust is an expectation – I expect them both to lie 24/7 to get what they want, since they’re both overgrown rich brats who never faced actual consequences for anything in their lives.
It's astonishing how much that guy looks like the villain of a 1980's childrens cartoon brought to life. Like, how did that even happen? Guy should be off fighting Captain Planet of something.
And ofc he’s deliberately always going to omit that anything that caused the nonspecific febrile response—not just vaccine reaction but actual disease— in someone with mitochondrial dysfunction of that sort would likely have had similar downstream effects
Absolutely. Offit discusses that a tiny bit in the article along with other issues with mitochondrial disorders.
He's also said that wifi degrades mitochondria, FWIW.
I'd forgotten that gem.
RFK’s ignorance is stunning. He is damaging this country because he is still clinging to this long disproved idea.
This is malice, not ignorance. Why RFK Jr. is lethally wrong about so many subjects has been explained to him repeatedly over decades. There is no excuse or defense for what he has done and is doing.
I've settled on that he's a serial killer whose M.O. is social murder.
If there is a hell, I do hope there is a special place for those that take material &/or emotional advantage of grieving parents for their own gain.
How many children have mitochondrial enzyme deficit? It seems like it must be uncommon.
Adult prevalence is slightly less than 0.01% in a European cohort, covering a wide range of disorders.
Yes, it is quite uncommon. Not that facts matter to RFK.
Only thing I notice is that I have a hard time trying to decide whether all his anti-science rhetoric is a result of the brain eating worm, drug use, inability to pass a biology class, or fundamentally being a horrible human being.
He started his career as an environmental lawyer w/ political ambitions. A lot of people who loved the earth cheered him on then (his rhetoric rubbed me the wrong way so I was a little bit dubious even then). I think it's a combo of ambition, suspicion, & hubris. 1/
He's so confident in his own abilities & so suspicious of accepted expertise that he never even considers that he might be wrong or - gasp! - might not even have a clue what he's talking about. And don't discount overweening ambition. 2/2
Why not E) all of the above?
Yes, I apparently was not in test writing mode - should have been « pick the best answer » and included your option!
Mostly D, horrible human being. Ghislaine Maxwell said in her recent "interview" that RFK was an associate of Epstein's. He can be easily controlled by blackmail. The fascist agenda is to kill us, and he delivers.
Thank you, I was trying to figure out what he was talking about here.
Happy to translate but sad I've followed him long enough to know what's in his worm brain.
Thank you for your service.
I know something that can actually cause "mitochondrial challenges and inflammation". Much more than vaccines. I also know someone who is extra anti prevention (not on here).
Very helpful thread…
And I know what a healthy voice is supposed to sound like. 🤷🏾♂️
Is that a Diet Coke by his ankle? Is it his? And do you remember what he said about people who drank Diet Coke?
I’m sure I’ll regret asking, but what did he say about people who drink Diet Coke?
it’s so incredibly frustrating
Meanwhile air pollution IS associated with autism, especially 3rd trimester exposure, as Trump closed all environmental justice offices and is gutting the Clean Air Act. Is the anti-vax propaganda funded by fossil fuel industry, as is the climate denialism propaganda?
Good question. I don't know if CHD gets any money from them. I think Kennedy is personally just hyper focused on vaccines but no reason others couldn't exploit that for their own gain.
Maybe I'm way oversimplifying and jumping to a small conclusion here, but I suspect he's blaming mitochondrial DNA because it comes from the mother? Like he's just a misogynistic simpleton with a corkboard and a piece of string
What does he know about mitochondria?
Nothing but as a lawyer, he knows the Poling case.
Business partners (and long-time autism quacks) Dan Rossignol & Richard Frye seem to be pushing the mitochondrial claims, along connections to vaccines. And of course Frye has been promoting a "mitochondrial supplement" as well. 2025 MDPI special issue paper, 2011 Psychiatry News article:
Of course they are.
Its all the same 2 dozen odd quacks and grifters of the last 3 decades in one trenchcoat.
Oh I should have known: Richard Frye is a coauthor with Jon Poling on the Hannah Poling case report, published way back in 2006! pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...
Is it just US kids - or also in Switzerland to Swaziland?
Unroll @skyview.social
What's so frustrating about this is that there are real children affected by real conditions related to post-infection inflammation (long covid for one, and PANS etc.) and I've heard providers balk at treating them simply bc acknowledging it triggers the autism/anti-vax conspiracy crowd.
Mitochondrial challenges… He doesn't understand that “A Wrinkle in Time” was fantasy.
