David-Trump & the GOP drive the media narrative almost every day. Last year, under 30% thought the US was headed in the right direction economically, but over 70% said they were doing well personally. The reason is that the media was hyper-focused almost entirely on the bad news & ignored the good.

I agree, Jeff. Ignorance rules. But there were a lot of factors. I think the whole switch up with Joe standing down freaked people out. And we have to acknowledge that US is still a sexist and racist country. And religion played a part as many of faith don't think a woman should be in charge.
