Kamala's voting record in the Senate was to the left of Sanders & Warren and moderates/sane Republicans viewed her that way (Socialist!) due to how she was portrayed in the media. Harris 2024 got the same or more votes than Biden 2020 in all the swing states save AZ. Trump just did better in all 7

Harris did better in NC, GA, and WI and was roughly the same in NV (tiny increase), and PA & MI (tiny decreases). The difference was that Trump did better in all 7 swing states. Dem turnout in blue states like CA, NY, NJ, MD, IL, etc. was down, which accounted for the overall Dem decrease

... there are many on the left to blame for not coming out in record numbers to vote. They are as much to blame for those who came out in droves to vote for a rapist felon. Credit where credit is due, Republicans are party loyal to a fault. Obviously the splintered Democrat Party is not.
Nonetheless millions of Democrats stayed home for some reason. I know in 2016 I had to beg my Sanders supporting niece and her friends not to protest vote for Trump. I heard the same thing from far left progressives about Kamala. I was regularly attacked online for supporting her. So there's that.
