I'm a Democrat and I'm perfectly fine with influencers being paid - most of them don't make it a secret who is paying them, but it seems to be a scandal every time it's brought up (it was in Trump's 1st term as well) Agree-GOP didn't bat an eye over Benny Johnson, Dave Rubin, etc paid by Russia
Read the wired article and the restrictions the influencers had to agree with to get paired by Dem donors. Top of the list is that they can’t disclose who’s paying them. It’s taking influencers and turning them into DNC spokespeople.
Have you seen what Trump is doing to those he considers to be his enemies? Would you want the full force & power of the DOJ turned on you? Even if you eventually win, you lose everything & you're life can be ruined. I see completely why they want to be anonymous.
Oh this donors aren’t anonymous from the DOJ. The DOJ can trace the money in seconds and find who’s who. They want to be anonymous to the public - because if we know who’s funding the influencers, we can put their message in it’s proper context (incentive structure) and maybe reject the message.
If an influencer is going on and on about how “we can’t abandon our friend Israel”, or “it’s not a genocide”, or “Mamdani is a marxist”, or “Corey Booker + Elissa Slotkin are the future of our party”, blah blah.. it helps to know if maybe a Zionist billionaire Bill Ackman is funding the influencer.

lol, she’s not saying what he’s saying. Her reporting was verified by influencers who were given the contracts to sign. It stipulates not disclosing their donors. You might be okay with that precondition like the MAGA folks are, but that is the truth.

This is the “shoot the messenger” step. They’re trying to delegitimize her because her reporting exposed their coordinated and well financed influence-peddling. The Dem donor class, including AIPAC, are repackaging themselves with new names and they want to influence Dem policy/views anonymously.

I know a few of the top influencers being paid by this group totally avoid talking about Israel/Palestine. Like no mention at all of the whole atrocity. One of them, Aaron Parnas, aggregates (bad) news of the day and zero mention of Gaza, and he blocks anyone who points out his omission.

I'd ideally like more context of the conversation she is participating in, but I assume she is calling the wired article fake. I don't think paying people to adhere to framing or narrative on behalf of the Dem Establishment that currently has a 0% approval rating is a good thing, personally.
