interesting the proximity factor
interesting the proximity factor
I'm not sure that they're wrong. Probably correct
Definitely correct
As long as Republicans are allowed anywhere close to our governance and politics, Canada and Mexico are 100% correct.
@emgeekay.bsky.social thought you might appreciate this
Thank you, Niki! I do!
A great example of propaganda that people in Hungry & Poland find Ukraine as their top threat. Proximity to war could account for some belief but not that much
Surprised the numbers aren't higher.
Sounds objectively correct right now ?
I live here and it’s the greatest threat to me.
Given how 2025 is going I'm seriously surprised more Americans don't note the US as their top threat.
I do
I assume Trump would see this as good news. He wants people (inside and outside the US) to be scared of him. Bullying is one of his only tools.
Wake up, America. We are NOT the good guys
It’s true.
It is unanimous People in the US already know Trump's America is the greatest threat to all of North America.
We are also our own greatest threat, so I guess North America is in this together.
This is so embarrassing.
They're not wrong.
Yup
What a coincidence. Most Americans think the United States is our country’s greatest threat.
Add us to the list…
And since Jan 20 they are right!
We're ours, too, it seems
Fascinating stuff. A majority of South Koreans did not pick North Korea?
The US is also the biggest threat to the US.
Canada and Mexico: We the people of the USA are no threat to you - we are your allies! The threat is this administration- a threat to you AND to us.
yeah naw dog something like 70% of your adult population is complicit in his election the millions who voted FOR him and the millions who didnt vote at all solve your countries problems then you as a nation wont be a seen as a threat
Ok. I voted, and I was in the minority. I will stop fighting for what’s right. Is that what you want?
show me where i said that you should stop fighting for whats right? stop taking the criticism personal its not about you and you need to understand that
Oh, i understand that. Showing us your anger is understandable. We in the political minority share that anger. We will shift the politics in Nov 2026. Until then, we protest, we vote for anti-repub candidates at every smaller election until and after that. But this next year will be very ugly.
The majority of American people aren’t a threat, but we’ve learned that a small minority can manipulate cult members with the help of Fox and social media.
Your president and your congress is directly threatening Canada, Greenland and other countries. You may not of voted for him, but your country is harming us.
We understand your frustrations and anger. We, too, are frustrated and angry. And we are embarrassed US govt officials are this stupid and ignorant in global matters.
So true.
70 million people voted for the current president. Another 90 million didn't vote despite living through his 1st term. That's almost 70% of the US electorate. I think you'll understand why we're not convinced in the cross-border solidarity just yet.
What cross border? I keep meeting US Americans coming here to show solidarity. There are US Americans arriving here and wearing elbows up gear. There are people taking concrete action down south as well. They know 🇨🇦 is hammering the 🇺🇸with boycotting, and yet they still want to help.
And those things are great. But there's a long way to go before it starts moving the needle.
The USA has a bigger problem in that there is a large portion of People who fail to recognize Trumps (and administrations) threats against Canada as threats. They just kind of know of Canadians as buddies in torques and fail to take it seriously but they are slowly coming arround to understand. 🇨🇦
I am part of the 3% of Americans who see the US as the biggest threat to the US. Way more worried about a civil war than a failing nation on the other side of the globe dying their last gasps of imperialism, or the new hyper capitalist kid on the block trying to fuck with our soil and ocean away.
Came here to say the same thing.
What did they say last year?
I love those countries. How could this happen? Who are we anymore?
They’re not wrong.
Yet they love to visit the US…
Not anymore.
It’s down, yes, but it’s still over 4M a month from Canada.
Well, no more visits from my family. Not gonna set foot there until the government follows the law.
I don’t blame ya!
I didn't realize it was as many as that.
It is disappointing. My niece and her friends just went to Maine for a hen party - why? I have no issue with the people of Maine, but couldn’t these ladies find a rural equivalent in NB or NS? Elbows up only works if people actually don’t support the US economy in any way possible
Not sure how old your niece is but in every poll I've seen, younger Canadians are less upset about Trump. Still upset overall, but there's a much larger cohort that is indifferent (or even pro-Trump.)
I don’t think these ladies pay any attn to gov’t policy. They’re all from wealthy families who feel insulated from such common issues, if they are even aware of them
Huh. Weird instance where most people are right.
And they are correct. When it comes to important shit, he talks big but never delivers. When it comes to mean nasty stuff, he always tries ( not always successfully) to do it
To lump Poland in with Hungary seems grossly unfair to the Poles considering a) the 4.5x difference between the #'s and b) the sheer numbers of Ukranians Poland had absorbed at least through the first year of that invasion
Wow, the U.S. came out on top. I guess that’s what Trump meant by making America great again.
The Unites States govt is Americans' greatest threat
They're right.
