I feel dumber for having read it. Maybe my brain is too small.

There’s also the assumption the mothers stay the same size. but reality is more like bigger babies mean bigger mothers in subsequent generations.

Not necessarily. Head size and pelvis size do not necessarily correlate genetically, if there's not evolutionary pressure forcing them to correlate.

Unless you think humans are turning into bobble heads, the body will have to be proportional to the head.

Thank you for posting the article, Heather. Musk warped the information into his racist, mansplaining brain and used it to further his agenda. 😡

Reading the paper, the authors clarification seems to indicate that people, like Musk, are getting very unsupported conclusions from the paper. My take. The child's skull can change shape during the natural birthing process (very obvious in my youngest daughter!). But how does the volume change!?

I think you mean “mass”, not “volume”. The volume definitely changes.

Interesting. I haven't heard before that the fontanelles that shift back months after birth don't shift back all the way. A skull mass change is a big surprise, what is the matter that is added or removed depending on C Section or Natural? If you have papers to back it up, I'd love to see them.

I don’t think you carefully read the previous two posts.

It is the same concept of saving individuals from deaths that would have occurred 100-200 years ago. Those individuals go on to live and produce others with similar genetics. E.g. rhesus negative blood types

Side note: researchers don’t have proof of this per the article. The article also suggests another possibility: “They note the possibility that the increase in baby head size might be due to the modern lifestyle, which is more sedentary and calorie rich than that of past generations.”
