Yes, it’s gotten a LOT better even in the last 5-10 years or so. I have a movement disorder (not a candidate for DBS at this point) but this looks about like the tech I’ve seen at my neurologists office for the people that have gotten it
I'm not sure it's widely available yet, though - I know someone who is expected to die from Parkinson's in maybe 6 months.
Yeah, the challenge with it is that it treats certain movement symptoms but doesn’t reverse any neurodegeneration or brain network changes. So it can be great for certain people/specific points in disease progression but it’s not a magic bullet or cure
