No poll gave Biden any chance of winning. That's what Obama, Pelosi, and many other Dem leaders were trying to convince Biden about. His ego, and advice from Hunter and Jill fooled him. He lost whatever chance he still had by his absolutely incoherent performance in the debate ("We beat Medicare!")

The path to winning in the future is acceptance & understanding of what went wrong in the past, so we don't repeat it again. It's a standard manufacturing technique called continuous improvement. It works in software development and for airline safety. We need to hack the system. We must do better!

no one knows what that means - hack the system

To a software developer, "hack the system" means that once you understand how the system works, you can use that knowledge to work within the system (or change it) to achieve your desired result. Learning from past mistakes is a key way to get better over time.

-find the right donors -appeal to their anxieties -rage them up -apply leverage -repeat Matt Gaetz

Obviously, Matt Gaetz's approach failed. Anyway, surely you can admit there is a difference between telling an 80-year old who's got public protests against his policies by members of his party that he's too old to run than doing what Gaetz advised.

Even Mitch McConnell admitted that the GOP was experiencing challenges in showing Bidens faults I never expected Joe to win in 2020, I thought he was the lamb the party is now in shambles bc there is no proper planning there needs to be a self imposed term limit

I think Biden was the only one who could have beaten Trump in 2020. His early policy work was great, except he went with subsidies & DEI over Carbon Fee and Dividend for climate, and let Trump torpedo the bipartisan border bill. I think Biden was the only Dem who could have lost to Trump in 2024.

We need legislated term and age limits. 18 year terms for SCOTUS. A new Justice every 2 years. Out of any federal office at 75. SCOTUS ethics rules as other judges have. Address dark money. +Senator Whitehouse has great ideas. +Senator Murphy on guns. + close this: drive.google.com/file/d/1CoXc...

I tend to agree, but there's no way to know for sure. He might have eked out a win.

Biden lost people on his blind support for Israel, his open border policy (then last-minute action that showed he could have acted earlier), and the whole country was worried that he was too old to lead for another 4 years. The main thing was voters wanted change. He didn't denied Dems that chance.

It wasn't "blind support". I believe BN was determined to help DT win. & the border bill was not "last minute". It had been in the works for a long time. Meanwhile, Bernie didn't even manage to rename yet another post office & Liz's "flick of a pen" std loan cancelations had issues in the courts.

BN was only determined to stay out of jail. Biden was 30 years behind reality. The bipartisan border bill was great, but Trump torpedoed it. Years before, as an interim measure, Biden could have done what he ended up doing after the bill's support collapsed due to the GOP bending the knee to Trump.

Hindsight is 20/20. We expect every dem in power to be perfect and to do everything at the exact moment that would have been perfect. I always wonder how many purists work their @$$e$ off to help elect normie dems like we non-purists do.

I worked to make the defining issue of our time a top-level issue: "Talk Climate with Candidates": share.google/Lk3UVYrBqQVi... The two parties could not be more different on climate policy. If progressive Dems focused less on purity tests and more on family budgets and pollution they'd do better.

My stomach dropped when Biden announced he would run for a second term. It was obvious he was in decline from age and that the public wanted change. I'm not looking for Dem perfection. Just acceptance of reality over hubris. Voters shouldn't have to hold their noses to vote against GOP corruption.
