Well, thanks Sam. I remember each of these paintings, each very different. The sort of self-portrait was painted fairly large for me, WN paper and pigments. I liked it in a way because it felt like the cold wet day when I painted it 1/

Yes you can feel the cold emanating from your image - and that’s genius

Tree upper left is so-called strawberry tree in our back garden, painted in Stillman & Birn sketchbook I bought at recommendation from @edowatercolourart.bsky.social I like shape of that tree & I was happy to paint in new sketchbook because reminded me of friendship with Edo 2/

Yes it is a very interesting shape full of innocence and intrigue and will bring you many happy memories. The style reminds me of a form of Japanese art - uncomplicated, no background just its own innate beauty.,

Thanks Sam. I do like certain Japanese artists, especially Hiroshi Yoshida, early 20th century woodblock prints After long struggle to paint backgrounds and context (very difficult for me) I realize that that is not how I see the world in many cases. Just focus in on a detail

The painting of flowers was testing out old 300 lb paper to see if sizing was OK. This came from studio of one of my best friends after she was too ill to paint. Loved her and her love of art 3/

I really like this one, it’s great - but would take too long to describe in writing here to do it justice here and now. I’ll pen a few words on it tomorrow and post here.

Yes an awful lot of noisy noise - have you heard of the adage - Empty vessels make the most noise. Well, from afar, it seems that Trump, Vance and Hegspeth are confirming this. Fill your own space up with your own wonderful things so there is no room for the noise to penetrate for that hour or so

I'm truly touched that you remember these paintings and sketches and had nice things to say about them. You've made my day! 4/4
