Trying to do a little drawing or painting every day, even if just 10 - 15 min. Tonight: quick ink drawing of centerpiece at an evening event we attended in my new, tiny sketchbook. Used micron pen #art #quicksketch #ink

Hand holding tiny sketchbook with black ink line drawing of a floral centerpiece. Drawing by Ellen Friedman Photo of floral centerpiece with white hydrangea focal point, light grey green leaves and other whitish flowers. Image by Ellen Friedman

Beautiful hydrangea Ellen, a happy half an hour (if you ran over) 🤗

Thanks, Pam. I don't know why ink is so relaxing (as long as I don't worry about the results) but it is!

Ink is relaxing and then using a watercolour wash - more so!

Ted was just suggesting I try a watercolour wash on some of these. Sounds good

Hi Pam, Thanks for the tip. I just looked online at some of Neil Whitehead's paintings. Very confident! A short-short video on his website shows him adding very wet wash using large brush to a very small ink sketch - a surprising way to add paint & good way to avoid "going tight"

I agree Pam. The trick for me is to have the wash light enough.
