These are beautiful. In 1989 or somewhere around there was a documentary on TV about Maria Hofker Rueter. The thing she loved to do, was sitting in her garden, en paint the flowers and things around her. I am dure you would love her book. But it's only in Dutch and French Iam afraid.

And now I read in wikipedia that Maria Hofker Rueter modelled for the girl on a 1924 postage stamp designed by her father. Artistic talent seemed to run in her family nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_H...

Thanks so much, Edo. And thank you for the pointer to Maria Hofker Rueter. I did not know of her or her painting. I will keep an eye out at the library to see if they have a copy in French or Dutch. I can probably bluff my way through the French, and Ted could bluff his way through the Dutch 😉
