I actually love the very early morning. Happy to be up at 6am. Only problem is, I'm also up at 2am, so that kind of puts a crimp on early morning freshness. My perfect schedule would be sleep 2am-6am and again 1pm-5pm

That would work for me except maybe in winter as we get really short days here then.
Driving along at 1am thanks to a late start, we've told ourselves how lucky we are to be crossing Los Angeles without the traffic😂
Maybe I should do that traffic jam scene from LA-LA Land at some point 😂
Don't know that one. I will need to watch the movie now. Been meaning to do so
I haven't been to LA so I'm not personally familiar with the traffic, but the opening to that film starts in an LA traffic jam and it ends up rather joyful.
LA traffic can be stunning. At any time of day. Or night. Getting to or from San Diego, it is an ever-present challenge to many road trips. LA transit can add anywhere from 90 min to 5 hours to a trip. Tricky for planning
I hear there are not a lot of options for travel other than cars, which isn't going to help. I'm going to London this week and the traffic might be rather worse than usual since there's a tube strike on - but other than that it's gotten better. For cycling especially.
Good luck with that. I'm going to be in UK in Oct for a week, planning to rely on trains for several visits and aware train strikes may make that tricky. Not an issue in LA 'cause not much travel by train, more's the pity. There is a subway system not very widely used or reaching many areas.
My last few train journeys from Scotland have been relatively uneventful so fingers crossed you get the same!
