Luigi Mangione is a highly educated, heterodox, politically homeless moderate. He's never registered as a Dem, OR as an asshole. He WAS, however, deeply concerned that millionaire insurance executives ARE cashing out on a pile of corpses caused by their denials of care. nationofluigis.com

Personally I’m the Medical Rep for my Father-in-Law. The amount of phone calls, inconvenient appointments and denials/appeals from insurance is unbelievable. My FIL was an insurance rep, paid Humana Platinum for 25+ years, and I have to fight for everything. I feel for those without someone to fight

I cannot see Luigi's motivations (anger at denials of care) as necessarily political, outside of the tangential connection that the executive in question WAS a registered Republican and donor to Hitler 2.0.

I didn’t intend to suggest otherwise— I’m inclined to say Pew’s typological term “outsider left” might be a more apt fit for his politics. www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...

He, himself says that he is a non-affiliated moderate, and it seems disingenuous of Pew to suggest that he isn't. At any rate, Mangione had clear, defined motivations that were NOT partisan, and instead based upon HIS reality, OUR shared healthcare reality, and chronic severe pain.
