People don't hate the sleek NACS plug, they hate Elon (for some very good reasons). BTW, how many people nowadays hate the Ford brand because Henry Ford was a very vocal antisemite?
Also just objectively speaking CCS is better. The idea of going with mild ergonomic gains over performance is wild.
CCS combo sucks. Monsterous & clearly not well thought out as an ergonomic single plug design. Used both. NACS is sleek & not something an SAE Engineer whipped up quickly, just to create a base gov standard. We called the fast charger version of SAE 1772, on old Aptera Forum, “Frankenplug”. 🤮
The better way to think about this is that we all gave Elon billions of taxpayer dollars to produce a clean future. We didn't get that. Instead, all we got for it was 1 streamlined charger & an ego fueled fascist. It should be used but also be seized from Tesla entirely as a forfeiture asset.
I didn't like the Tesla plugs before they were politicized. And sure but Ford is dead and Elon and others using the Tesla plug to throw consumers and workers on both sides of the Pacific under the bus is ongoing. Apples and oranges.
The shape and size of the NACS plug fits the Aptera like a glove!
