The gop stopped playing fair when they created the fox propaganda machine. The gap has only widened since then. The 2 parties are not the same.

I remember Newt taking out a Contract on America. That morphed into the Tea Baggers and the downhill slide accelerated from there.
I can’t imagine what it feels like to watch our country’s leadership devolve year after year. Do they get a sense of pride from the money they’ve taken at the expense of the advancement of their country?
I believe that it is mostly desperation-fueled: they know things are going to hell but in the meantime it's easier to just go along with the grift, the "I got mine" mentality. And some people deny until things are too far gone to recover from, then "it's too hard (or impossible) to fix, why bother?"
They’re “not the same”, but they do a lot of the same things…especially when it comes to selling The People (and the nation) out by taking lobby money as well as using insider trading to enrich themselves in the stock market. Stop electing centrist Dems and the field will change for the better.
Bernie was honest about it all, all along.
Indeed he was. I think a lot of that comes from him being an Independent and not being beholden to the DNC’s failed policies and tactics. He’s always been on a mountain top observing the entire forest so he could see all of it…he wasn’t blinded like Dems who “can’t see the forest for the trees”.
He never played that game. He has seemingly been a true public servant.
Always has been…and he has seen the dangers of oligarchs all along, tried to warn us (and still does to this very day), and has been the voice the nation needs. Unfortunately, most voters are hung up on voting for corporate shills instead of voting for reps (like Bernie) who don’t take lobby money.
For sure.
No, they're not. And that's frustrating to me as a hardcore political indeoendent. I vote Democrat these days because I want America to retutn ro being a free democracy. But I miss having choices. Too many Americans decided not to work with anybody that sees the world differently than they do. ☹️
yup
The Federalist Society started in the early 80s.
Sure. One party exists to directly implement fascism, and the other exists to prevent any opposition to fascism
Newt Gingrich in the late 70s is where it all began. Thanks to Dick Nixon
don't forget the Powell Memo! when they realized they were Losing to an Educated and increasingly Disgruntled populace. oh & Rush the Oxymoron.
Funny enough, Adolf Hitler utilized radio the same way these facists utilize the internet.
eltrumpfster Learned from The Best People
Agree, and we have been in decline ever since.
Yup and got together with Clinton to sign the Telecom act of 1996. Now all these companies are merging.
both he and obama were such disappointments
THIS! My kids(now 34-39) were taught in hs that social security would not exist when they got older We live in Newts 6th congressional dist GA. Republicans been at this long before trump rolled down the escalator screaming about Mexican rapists REPUBLICANS WANT THIS.. they’ve been working towards it
And don’t forget Paul Weyrich who co-founded The Heritage Foundation, ALEC, and coined the term "moral majority’ who told Republicans ‘I don't want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people…our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.
Oh, don’t forget Frank Luntz, the GOP wordsmith, who helped Newt send out training tapes to Republicans to teach them to talk about Democrats in demeaning and derogatory language. Luntz is still at it today.
Gingrich didn't come on until the late 80s, when Reagan and Bush were in charge.
Nope late 1970s. Read this book www.goodreads.com/book/show/52...
I think the point was that Gingrich wasn't in a big position of influence until the very end of the 80s and into the 90s. He could have and should have been stopped beforehand, but hindsight's a bitch like that.
More like Nixon era.
