Yes, but that doesn't make the increase exponential. The increase is exponential if the _exponent is increasing_. Example: the difference between x^2 (quadratic) and 2^x (exponential increase) is if I make x 10 times bigger, a quadratic increase is 100, and an exponential increase is 1024.
