It also adds an interesting moral debate to the movie What galactus does is no different to what other organisms do he consumes to survive not out of malice or anything it's like calling a lion evil for eating a zebra. Could have led to a really interesting debate with reed when they first met

I completely agree with this, though I feel they touched on it when Galactus talked about his hunger, plus his insistence on capturing Baby Franklin. He doesn’t want his hunger, he’d rather put it on a baby. Which is awful and downright wrong, but that's his motivation for getting rid of his curse.

I think his intention was more to mould franklin into taking his place for the next cycle of the multiverse as that's franklins destiny in the comics once the current multiverse dies Franklin will be the last thing alive to merge with the sentience of the multiverse and start the cycle anew

I agree, all I’m saying is this was mentioned in the movie, the whole “he must take the throne, the hunger so I can finally rest.” part when he was talking to Shalla-Bal on board his ship.
