Also a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro which was adapted into a movie. And I'm sure many, many others. It used to be dystopian science fiction, until governments decided to turn novels into manuals.

Yes! I read "Never Let Me Go" then watched the movie with Keira Knightly...unsurprisingly the book was better.

I think the movie did as good a job as it could work the source material, though. Some books are meant to be books.
