The incomprehension here would be touching if it wasn’t so incapacitating. This is who they are. They’re literally showing you who they are. At what point do you believe the evidence of your own eyes and recognise them as the dangers that they are?

Labour are embracing right wing populism. This isn’t bad comms, it’s deliberate strategy. They’re banking on their natural supporters being coerced into going along with it, and their media outriders not being able or willing to grasp what’s happening, thus manufacturing consent for the shift.

At what point do liberal commentators stop giving them the benefit of the doubt? There is rapidly decreasing room for doubt. They know exactly what they’re doing and they want to do it.

Same as the US… those that might most effectively raise the alarm either want this or see it in terms of “Couldn’t happen in this most ancient of democracies etc” “Just an aberration” etc. Herd instinct also… better to call it badly with your peer group than correctly but alone
