I’m 52 and living to 55 seems impossible while people are screaming I need to save for retirement. I’ll never retire and more than likely me contributing to pay for cancer care would create legacy debt that I refuse to pass on to my kid. This whole thing sucks and most people my age want off this

I'm also early 50s and just keep thinking if they kill social security I'm quitting everything that same day. right now I'm planning to wait until the birthday when i qualify and just take the single dollar or whatever. this shit is a fuckin disaster can't imagine being younger and coming up in it
Lobbyists work to be able to get their companies what they want at the cost of the people and the environment. I'm a licensed funeral director and when I was first hired,I was making the same hourly rate that CHIPOTLE was paying... but I didn't get free Chipotle. 🥲 we are but cogs in the machine.
It's been bleak my entire life. We're pushed low-quality foods because they're cheaper, which causes health issues, throws us into the endless loop of Healthcare/ pharmacy (another billion dollar industry) it seems we can make all the right decisions and still lose. Homelessness on the rise... scary

I'm 52 also, with lifelong health issues. Also poor, non-binary, activist, and a socialist. It's a tossup at this point whether I get to die in a concentration camp, at a protest, during a civil war, or just slowly expiring from untreated asthma. Whee.
