Business opportunity (or service opportunity) for poets: a workshop on crafting a bio that makes sense, is more than just a list of publications and awards, brings humanity to the poet, shows creativity while maintaining sense.

I’ve read hundreds of poet and playwright bios over the last few months. Many of them are objectively terrible.
I maintain that every creative person submitting work for publication should have a 50-word bio, a 75-word one, a 150-word bio, and then, if warranted, a longer one. If you don’t have lots of publications, focus on something else, like your mission, philosophy, influences (not a list of names).
(to be fair, I subscribe to the David Lynch school of artist bios for journals/zines: “David Lynch is an Eagle Scout from Missoula, Montana.” Perfect, no notes.)
