My #BirdOfTheDay is the Common Reed Bunting. Despite being listed as Least Concern globally, Reed Bunting populations have declined in some areas due to habitat loss and agricultural intensification. In the UK, they are classified as amber. #birds #photography #EastCoastKin

A small brown and white streaked bird is perched sideways on a thin, pale reed stem, gripping it with one foot. The bird has a fluffy, rounded body, a sharp beak, and dark eyes. Its tail is long and pointed downward. The background is a soft, out-of-focus green, giving the scene a natural, serene feel.

All birds are in decline unfortunately. If it were up to me...none of them would ever be listed under "least concern". Bc once that happens...a few yrs or a decades down the line it's opposite. All birds need our help. This lil person is absolutely adorable!
