our society has always been hostile toward poor and working-class people but the rate at which it's becoming increasingly, aggressively so is alarming. i feel like we're strapped to a speeding vehicle that's on a collision course with something, and just what emerges from that is anyone's guess.
One of the ways this is noticeable to me is when I hear people same “homeless problem.” No, they’re people, not problems. The concern should be focused on the root of the issue that causes people to become unhoused, what keeps them from accessing safe & affordable housing consistently.
I hope I explained my thinking well enough. The dehumanization really makes me angry.

Yeah, getting a lot of "après moi le déluge" vibes lately — like the rich are just trying to extract as much as possible from society and then make themselves scarce, so that whoever holds the bag next faces the consequences. there's no longer even a pretense of longterm stability or sustainability
And the very people that are hurt by this are voting for the very people that are making it happen, faster and faster. And I don't know how to fix that.
