I use 2/3 Romas and 1/3 canning tomatoes. Onion, garlic, Italian seasoning and basil. I donβt peel the tomatoes - cook them for a bit and then run them through a mill.
Ah, yes that is what I did with mine (the mill). I freeze my tomatoes because they don't ever ripe at the same time of course. I didn't put onion and garlic in it, but I should've done garlic for sure. This batch was for pizza so it's real thick. I grew Amish paste tomatoes for sauce
Ooooo! Iβll have to try some of those paste tomatoes next year!
Yeah. I've never been successful with Romas for some reason so it tried Amish paste and Marzano this year. Marzano did ok. But the Amish paste is big and hardy and meaty.
