This has to change--and fast. There's no reason California can't build homes fast. It's a reflection of leadership (of which, I grant you, there's not much of in California) and political willpower.

It is unfortunate for California and others. On the other hand, from an economic standpoint, it may not make sense to build anything in California or NY. Aside from making it easy to build, people in these states must figure out how to build cheaply.
