My mum is 86. I made sure I at least got her a passport last year as she'll never travel being too old but it's her only form of official photo ID because we do not have Id cards. Big mistake of labour not to bring them in

The otwhr thing is that in the US all the ice stuff is on many peiple who may just have unintentionally made mistakes in app forms or got a criminal record for even minor offences like Jay walking. Before they may not have bothered with deportations, now they are and it's legal.

Populist or dictatorial states become very bureaucratic in my view. I won't go to the US, like if I ride a bike and so something minor that wouldn't be illegal here (say u turn on open road), that's me off to a centre

Direction of travel on ID cards seems to be they’re coming in sooner rather than later (give me card 0000001 please)

They need to nor mess up the IT and for most part the covid apps worked well so I'm confident they can?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, put a blank contract on the table and let SingPass write whatever number they want down there. We don’t need to do anything fancy, just carbon copy a system like that, it makes interacting with a state feel decades ahead of the UK
