My 1st husband had polio, infantile paralysis. He walked as a baby until age 2, then he couldn’t. Physical therapy for 16 years, braces on his legs till he was 18. Walked with a little gimp. Left leg was 1/2 the thickness of his right leg. Yeah, let’s go back to that.
I grew up trying my shoes with one hand and not knowing how to throw a baseball because my father lost the use of his left arm to polio. We cannot go back to that.
