#ProudBlue What CA is doing is in direct reaction to what TX is doing. Newsom said that if TX didn’t go thru with their plan, he wouldn’t redistrict in CA. What are we supposed to do when the election is blatantly being rigged? Roll over and play dead? How does that help democracy?
Both Republicans and Democrats have gerrymandered for decades. This didn't just start in 2025. Both are culpable.

For years we've bitched about wanting SOMEONE to act like Mitch McConnell and now we have it! Redistricting mid decade is not illegal, it's just against the norms and rules of fair play. It has to be done and thank goodness someone is doing it.

The next thing we need to do is figure out how to stop the military and gestapo infiltration of our cities. THAT will be where the elections are halted. When armed thugs block our access to polling places, the fascist takeover will be complete.

I am a supporter of nonpartisan gerrymandering and have been for years, but I am not a supporter of unilateral disarmament. It’s not noble to refuse to fight back; it’s not pacifism, it’s appeasement. We need to fight for all of the people who will be hurt if we don’t.
