None of our memories are 'real' because every time we remember something our brains rewrite it. Tell yourself that you wore steel grey to your wedding and eventually you will believe it. But this untruth IMO has long shown her biggest shortcomings.

I feel it's also one of those things where she has chosen a stupid series of untruths over being able to tell a genuinely appealing and relatable story, in the way that she keeps doing and is baffling.
"I had been a high achiever, I found navigating working and studying in a foreign country aged sixteen really overwhelming and perhaps at times I was in denial over this and assumed I would find academic things easier than I was, nevertheless I did get to university" is relatable.
(Like it sound she had a version of the thing that happened to a bunch of people I knew in their first year of university, in that they had been very hardworking, academic focused and academically successful at school and then the change of environment was really confusing and upsetting)
(And she was younger and dealing with more stuff and having to adjust to more)
This is all fluff really, but it’s more amusingly diverting than the truly horrible stuff that actually matters.
I remember going to hospital to get an operation on my finger when I was 12. I was put in an adult ward, had gas to knock me out, vomited after because I ate food too early. I even remember that in the ward was a guy who had a motorbike accident. I mentioned to my dad and none of it is true ...
She could've been a contender...hic
Didn't she also claim she once worked flipping burgers - something that was also contested?
She did work at McDonalds, it was her claiming that she 'became working class' while doing it that people complained about.
Also some absolute nerds started going on about the dual-sided grills used in McDonald's restaurants which means that nobody needs to ACTUALLY flip the burgers
How else are you going to cook a lot of 10 to 1 parties quickly??
Wasn't there also an angle that her stint there pre-dated the minimum wage she claimed she'd earnt?
This is why documentation is so important (in life and in work)! A bedrock of civilisation is the signed, witnessed and issued official document, whether that's exam results, offers of acceptance/rejection or birth and death certificates. Everything else is arguable.
But I *did* wear steel grey to my wedding!
