this am. reported but more will come. it is as if stripe was also an ad platform.
Wild. They don't seem to understand the meaning of "wear out your welcome". Glad I never gave them my mobile number. And my apologies for misunderstanding. B/c I've never had a phone call or text from ActBlue, I had it locked in my head that they communicate by email. Stupid me. :-(
no apologies necessary. public records will show my 4 fig donations were marianne williamson before she went full bernie, hillary clinton and harris. separately I will always give to the ufw when they call. always a wobbly. that does not make me ‘blue’ today nor give every ‘dem’ a right to text me.
Hunh, interesting ... I missed the resurgence of the IWW ... haven't seen a mention in ages. Wasn't even aware that the IWW is still a going concern. UFW, sure! In re "does not make me 'blue'", sure: plenty of reasons to be skeptical about the Dems.
no resurgence except in my heart — and maybe a few others. My grandfather was a contemporary Swedish immigrant to Joe Hill(strom). UFW most authentic successor to the IWW.
hunh ... wiki says that the IWW is still active. I had no idea ... I looked because (again) I thought you were saying something different: that you are a member! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industr...
well yes technically it is active. But its legacy is much bigger than current membership.
Sure - they're the only early union I know anything about (and precious little at that), but the wiki page says that they organized some Starbucks outlets in the aughts, and represent workers at a fast food chain (Burgerville) since then. But 5000-odd members is a shadow of their best years ...
Mildly surprised that the history dates back only to 1905. For some reason I thought that they were involved in the Pullman strikes, but no, that's Debs' ARU. And I thought I recognized the name "Joe Hill" ... I have Pete Seeger's recording on Smithsonian LPs ...
