Getting ready to get Oliver's nails clipped at PetSmart. Last time he melodramatically filled the whole store with girl-screams, like he was being chased with a chainsaw through a dark forest by Jason in a Friday the 13th movie! Everyone in the store was laughing, except me! So embarrassing!
The good news is that it is eminently possible to teach animals to accept & cooperate with routine husbandry practices like injections, eye ointment, trimming hooves & nails using positive reinforcement techniques. Please get help.
The groomer and dog behaviorist that was there said to bring him in weekly for a month or two and get him used to it. They won't charge me each time. Fingers crossed!

My rescue buddy Theo here is the first dog I’ve had who refuses to let me trim his nails, it was a battle to get him to accept his monthly bath. He sympathizes with Oliver’s plight

Took Gregory to PetSmart only once...he had the same type of reaction...now, he only has them done at the vet...we devised a way to keep him calm through the process without using a muzzle... Were both much happier now...😁
My vet is $10 more expensive each visit, but he's a little better behaved there, so I might go back.
Oliver already seems to be anticipating the visit to PetSmart.😬🤪😄
So why make him go there again?
Because his nails are not good for my leather furniture and he won't let me clip them.
You could take him to his vet or another groomer.
Been there, done that. He does that with everyone. With me, it's even worse! LOL
