Today on the blog, how do you build around a narrow - or even a bad - Commander? How do you get cards unstuck from your brain? What does any of this have to do with microfilm? Read below to find out: #CMDR nerdtothecore.com/2025/08/15/u...

Really enjoyed this blog post. Commander feels special because it has that space to build for those strange cards you can’t get out of your mind, especially if they aren’t really that great. Enjoyed reading about the process of working with/through that 💜💜💜

Thank you for sharing your journey with Mono Black Modified! It's been helpful to follow along while I iterate over my own Mono Black Counters Matter deck.

Crovax is one of the first commander decks I ever built from scratch! He’s actually kind of a blast to pilot, having to work around his constraints makes the deck a lot of fun.

kincaid! the traveling b1 person @hwstmtg.bsky.social

can I quote this for a bracket 1 video I'm assembling? particularly this:

Narrow decks are some of my favorite ones to build and maintain. Honing in on a select suite of cards while also being able to find new and novel ways to engage with the entire history of the game keeps things entertaining. It also makes these decks easier to update as new cards are released. Looking at a card file for black cards that care about counters provides a set of parameters where it is entirely possible no cards could be added to the deck for months at a time. What a relief!
