You know what was cool? Holding Surestrike Trident over the head of the table and then having everyone slowly pick up to read it to fully understand what a threat it posed...and then they added it to their carts. I don't need generically busted stuff. Give me the weird! bsky.app/profile/nerd...

I playtested my 2017 Ghost Council of Orzhova deck today, and brother, how did we win games back then?
I pulled a copy of the One Ring when the LotR set came out. Played it in roughly 2 games and immediately took it out of every deck I had it in. Powerful? Absolutely. But it just didn’t…fit anywhere. It was always off theme and/or not really contributing to the deck’s gameplay in a way that was fun.
I hate it when people do that. Deckbuilding is an inherent choice in what cards you want to run versus cards you don't. Even if they are "better" doesn't mean they are more likable inclusions.
