The last time I saw a “service dog” in Walmart, it was licking packages of meat. Not a service dog! And GROSS! There has to be something that employees/companies can do to stop having dogs in stores.

Service dogs are still dogs, and even a well trained one is going to have a moment of weakness. If the owner wasn't wrangling their service dog, THAT was the problem. You still have to keep them in line in public. Mine wants to pet every human he sees and sometimes forgets he can't.
Mine wouldn't lick the meat, nor would I be paying that little attention. We have to be good ambassadors.
