I am absolutely outraged that our so-called president didn’t have the decency to attend the funeral of a murdered public official and her husband. He hasn’t even commented on it. Let that sink in folks…I can’t even get my head around the thought of a person that inhuman.

I think he knows it and his callous disregard is also a signal to his base to disregard it. They are normalizing terrorism and political violence, historically these were tactics that were only employed by the U.S. in 3rd world countries it was exploiting or black and brown
neighborhoods domestically but we can see this administration crossing a rubicon, he’s willing to commit violence against white communities who oppose him. It’s a clear sign, once he’s done terrorizing Mexican, latino communities, he will turn that hate toward American communities and citizens.
They already are. Americans should not obey in advance and start organizing to resist, speaking truth back to power and protecting people who can’t protect themselves or are not in the rooms will be paramount. Democracy takes courage to protect, I hope America is up for it.

Under ordinary circumstances, the president should have been first in line to attend. However, these are not ordinary circumstances and Trump is the last person anyone should want to be there since it’s his toxic behavior and rhetoric that allowed this tragedy to happen in the first place.
True, it would have been a distraction had he been there and he undoubtedly would have done something inappropriate. But to not at least send someone from his administration is outrageous.
