No matter where someone was born, the United States should never tolerate inhumane treatment. Yet right now, detainees in ICE custody are facing conditions that are simply unacceptable in any country that claims to uphold human rights, let alone one that prides itself on freedom and the rule of law.
Reports describe more than 20 people crammed into 12-by-12 foot cells, forced to sleep sitting up, with only one toilet and no privacy. The rooms are cold, access to food and water is limited, and hygiene is neglected.
Has #Felon47 erased the eighth amendment? Is cruel and unusual punishment now proper?
People with serious medical needs, diabetes, thyroid conditions, are being denied their daily medications. One woman couldn’t check her blood sugar for over a day. Others have gone without essential medication for days.
This is not justice. It’s not safety. And it’s not America. We cannot allow this kind of treatment to become normalized. Silence in the face of cruelty is complicity and we should all be outraged.
Oh and no air conditioning in places like Texas and LA… they heave been boiling US citizens to death for a long time. So I just don’t understand the sudden concern… maybe if this gets fixed we will owe another good thing to our immigrants.

ICE are the armed thugs of US empire.
These people are bounty hunters, and Lawless. They don’t care about the law or rights. And our taxes are being used to pay them. This is not acceptable, and our representatives will need to step up beyond statements and pass laws that strip DHS of the power to use our taxes to hire bounty hunters.
