Agaist my better judgement, I'll play. The point is to point out the hypocrisy of the right. It was your montra and you gave no grace for the shitshow that was inherited. The US came through COVID better than any developed nation. So now the left is just picking up where you left off. No grace.

Again, bro has been in office for two weeks. It's not hypercritical to not have fixed 4 years of handing out money for COVID (the cause of inflation) in two weeks.

Eggs being expensive is due to bird flu and the cost of feed being high. Do you think Biden had some magic lever in his office that just magically jacked up egg prices? The PPP Loans and the COVID relief funds happened under Trump's first term starting March 2020. Biden became president on 1/20/21

Not to mention, the $2.2T package on govt spending (the CARES act, again was Trump) wasn't the only factor. Supply chain issues as well as energy price shocks as well as just corporate greed.

Corporate greed has almost nothing to do with egg prices. What, do you think corporations all of a sudden became greedy which is why prices went up???

Because they knew we'd have to pay them, and they were using the pandemic as justification. So, yes it did affect egg prices. The price fixing for major egg distributors from places like Indiana like Rose Acre or Cal-Maine artificially raising egg prices up to 300% and that's not just a one off

The fact that the companies sell or manufacture the products or goods we need/want and would spend our money on it regardless of price because we would have no choice? Are you really this willfully ignorant or just generally this obtuse?

Buddy the consumption of eggs has fallen with the rise in prices. Obviously if eggs rise too high people wouldn't buy them as much, therefore companies have incentives in the free market system to not raise them to high Capitalism is the way to go

Buddy. Eggs were going up in price way before bird flu started to cause that. They started under Trump, but carried on for about a year to long under ya boi Biden. Inflation is too much money chasing to little goods. Ya boi thought that meant give everyone PPP loans until 2030

Jawsh @incrediblesloth.bsky.social

The PPP program was halted by May of 2021so I'm not sure where you're getting your information about Biden wanting to give everyone PPP loans until 2030, considering it was under the purview of the SBA and Congress holds the power of the purse. So, provide some citations of your claims

Obviously 2030 was an exaggeration bud. Since the year is 2025 and that is before 2030, I thought it would be obvious that was an exaggeration. I could have said until the end of time as well.

You on the other hand based your argument off the idea we are forced to buy this product so companies can make prices whatever they want

Jawsh @incrediblesloth.bsky.social

They make and/or sell the products we buy and set the prices typically around local area market conditions. That's literally how it works. Also,I never said "we are forced to buy this product" I said we are forced to pay whatever prices they set. You're just putting words in my mouth at this point

How can we be forced to pay something without being forced to buy it? If someone says they want 1 dozen eggs, am I putting words in their mouth if I say they want 12 eggs????

Jawsh @incrediblesloth.bsky.social

Jeez, dude. You can't be serious. We aren't being forced to buy things, I never said that. I said We are forced to pay the prices the companies charge if we want to purchase the item(s) even if they jack the prices up. How many times does that need explained? And another strawman. Cute.

Not at all. The basis of my statement was that it went way beyond the required amount and caused inflation. Biden kept handing out money like Frodo offering Aragon the ring (another analogy for you bud. I wanted to point out for you this is an analogy NOT LITERAL since you missed the last one).

Jawsh @incrediblesloth.bsky.social

I know what analogies are, and your analogy/comparison of Frodo offering the ring to Aragorn (amongst several others he offered it to) is pisspoor. I assume you're referring to the $22.5B he asked congress for for further COVID money which would have mainly been used for basically healthcare funding

The majority of the nearly $6.6T spent on Covid came from FY 2020, which was under Trump. I was no fan of Biden, but I prefer to put the blame of the shitshow where it belongs, especially considering he (Trump) gutted Obama's pandemic preparedness system, which would have greatly softened the blow
