I'm too white to speak for racism, but I think that can be true for other forms of bigotry as well. Like it just kind of personally really sucks to have your right to exist be something that's up for public debate. It's just kind of insulting and degrading and humiliating and infuriating.

And I mean, to a significant degree, that's the point. It's about creating hierarchy by enforcing that one group is the in group and the other is the out group, and it does that by degradation and humiliation, as well as systemic injustice and physical violence.

I think if you dropped the entire first bit it wouldn’t have landed that way for me. It’s not necessary and, for me, puts up a difficult to define wall rather than presenting a tone of commiseration. I think some of us white people feel the need to announce it in a way to try and acknowledge our

Privilege, but in doing so we can other ourselves rather than bond on a human to human level.

That's fair. I just brought it up cause it felt relevant. I just wanted to avoid coming off all "I as a white queer totally understand racism", ya know? Just that I understand being marginalized and how that feels. Guess I missed the mark a little.
