Absolutely heartbreaking to see the devastating floods in Texas, my home state. Communities are underwater, families displaced, so many lives lost—and help is desperately needed. All while disaster response is being dismantled in real time by the Trump Admin. We deserve better.
True, but there have been a number of tragedies in Texas over the past few years where it’s been obvious local and statewide officials have been sorely lacking in competence. Change has to begin at that level.
Also, HB13 ("to improve communication among first responders during emergencies, including using outdoor warning sirens and developing new emergency alert systems") passed the TX House on 4/2/25, but as of 7/6/25 was still pending in the TX Senate Finance Committee. Ask Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick why.

Saddest part of all……leaders dismantling our disaster relief as we are head into hurricane season …….as extreme weather events are becoming more common place……

Agreed! It was nauseating to listen to Abbott blow sunshine up both Noem and Trumps ass. Based on the circumstances it just wasn’t sincere and a total waste of time.
