When you eat at restaurants?
Why do you want to know that? What's your goal here? I've never interacted with you before, and I can't figure out why you'd ask a stranger that other than to say it's my fault I got sick because I wasn't careful enough. But maybe I'm misunderstanding you?
I’ve heard many people say “I mask indoors” & then talk about eating at restaurants. My goal, since you asked, is to clarify “I always mask indoors” & yet I got sick. There had to be an entry point for the virus. Clear communication about precaution adherence is impt.To de-mystify infection process
May I suggest, then, that you say that outright? "It sucks that you got sick! I'm sorry. I want to make sure you know that a common infection point is indoor dining [link to evidence]" I don't mask in restaurants when I eat in them about 6 times a year. The last time was in July. I probably got
this from my daughter, who lives with me, and her boyfriend. They think they got it from an intoxicated guy that approached them on the street and talked at them too close for too long. My precautions are good, but not perfect. Individual actions will never be as impactful as strong public health
measures. And individual actions are always mediated by structural pressures and tradeoffs between shifting priorities and capacities.
I don't do that indoors at all if I can avoid it. If no outdoor seating, takeout. If it's -30 outside, or the reason for being there is to be with the other people and I can't eat before or after, I've become amazing at tucking bites into my mouth and never inhaling except through the mask.
